In the top 50 list

Just found out that this blog has been listed on "The Freeloader’s Toolbelt: 50 Tools to Help You Get Anything Free Online".

The article by Christina Laun puts my blog under the "websites" category.

Thanks Christina.

Watch free movies online on 66Stage

Sometime back I wrote about allfg.org where you could watch movies and TV shows for free.Well, I found another similar site called 66Stage. They have loads of movies, TV shows, documentaries, cartoons, etc.

Like allfg.org. they don't store the movies on their server but provide link to others sites such as Veoh, DivX, Google, Youku, etc.

The quality of some of the movies I have seen are quite good. That is if you don't mind the small screen and the awfully long buffering.

In fact as I write this, I am waiting for "Resident Evil: Extinction" to load

Watch movies, tv show and more for free

I recently got to know about this amazing site - allfg.org, (automatically redirects you to www12.alluc.org) from my wife, where you can find links to loads of movies, tv shows, music videos, documentaries, etc. totally free.

I was able to catch some episodes of 'Heroes'' that I had missed and loads of other TV shows and movies as well.

However, watch at your own risk. Their disclaimer says:

By clicking on any Links to videos while surfing on Allfg.org you leave Allfg.org, Allfg.org cant take the responsibility for any content hosted on other sites.

Free image hosts

Check the list below if you are looking for a place to host your images for free. I am listing only a few because these are the ones I have used myself.

1. Flickr. This is got to be my favourite free photo hosting site on the net. It is owned by Yahoo! You can download up to 100MB of photos each calendar month with a restriction of 5MB per photo. Your photostream (the visible photos) views is limited to the 200 most recent images.

2. ImageShack. Allows you to uploads as many pictures as you want. Can also direct link to the pictures as well the thumbnails (recommended) from your blog or website. Each image uploaded should be less than 1.5MB.

3. Photobucket. It is said to be the largest photo-sharing site in the world. You are allowed up to 1 GB multimedia hosting and up to 25 GB of monthly traffic. The size of uploaded Image files is limited to 1 MB or less.

Review of Thoof

Found it hard to describe Thoof.com - a site that carries personalized news created by it's readers. It is a brand new site which was launched recently - the first blog post by Alan Ren (one of the co-founders and CFO of Thoof) was on June 30th, 2007.

It is like a hybrid of Digg and Wikipedia put together. In case you are wondering what I am talking about, read on and you will understand what I mean.

When you find something you think is interesting - can be anything, articles, websites, videos, photographs, etc. and want to share with others, all you have to do is hit the submit story button and post the link on the site. The stuff you have to fill in are the link url, the title, the summary and finally the tags.

The news will come online instantly on the site. Other readers can then read your summary and add or improve what you have written by clicking the 'improve' link under each title.

Searching for a topic of your interest is very easy. As every body is talking about the Harry Potter movie, I just did a search for "Harry Potter" and instantly obtained three results. Not many but as I mentioned before, the site is brand new.

You do not need to register in order to read the news listed, to edit them or to see your history. They will probably have more features for members who sign up in the future even though it is not mentioned on the site (as far as I know). So go and add your favourite links.

Exchanging links

This blog has seen a sudden rise in visitors over the past few weeks but the PR is still (sadly) 0. I am hoping to change that and I need your help in order to do that.

If you like my blog, please add me to your blogroll. I will definitely return the favour and maybe even do a review post about your blog on my PR4 ah ok lah blog.

You scratch my back, I scratch yours. he he he

Joomla templates

Joomla is one of the best open source online Content Management Systems (CMS). the latest version is Joomla! 1.0.12 [ Sunfire ], which was released in Dec. last year.

One major criticism is that all Joomla! sites look alike. You can't do much about the "Joomla look" but there are several templates out there on the net, both free and commercial, that you can personalise to your taste.

Found a nice list of different Joomla template sites on the o! Just Me blog.
