Even more free blogger templates

A lot of newbies to blogging usually start out with a blog on Blogger. After they have got the hang of it, they usually start looking for a new template. There are loads of free Blogger template sources out there on the net. I had blogged earlier about Blogclouds and Adam's templates.

Here are two more sources with loads of free templates for your Blogger hosted blogs:
- Final Sense
- Blogger Templates

New template

Yes! I finally have a new template after a long, long time.

I knew that my old one was "NOT" best viewed in Internet Explorer but somehow didn't get the chance to fix it. (Maybe I was too lazy). Only one post would be visible while the sidebar would be pushed down.

The new template is called "blogger-yolk" by Dwayne Hunter. It works with both IE as well as Firefox. Right now, I am in the process of putting back all the stuff in the sidebars.

Pimp your site with Pagefetti

I read 20 - 30 different blogs everyday and most of them are using the Blogger platform. One thing I noticed is that some of them are really plain, unexciting and using the generic templates provided by Blogger without any modifications. The same is true for MySpace pages and other social networking sites. They all look alike. This is due to the fact that a lot of users are not aware that they can change the look at all. However, some of those pages which have been personalized are so hideous with blinking graphics and text that can't be read.

That's where Pagefetti.com comes in. All you have to do is to download the pagefetti toolbar. Once integrated into your browser, you can use the various Pagefetti tools to customize your profile or "beautify" your page with loads of different layouts, backgrounds, graphics, photo generators, music generators, and more to choose from. All this with just the touch of a button. Real easy and quite user friendly. You don't have to get a certificate on web designing to have a great and attractive website.

The best part is that it is FREE now and you can choose from 100's of different layouts, background and graphics.

Though initially it was targeted at Myspace, it is also compatible with Hi5, Blogger and Zwinky.

More free blogger templates

One of the classic Blogger templates was the K2 Theme created by Michael Heilemann, Chris J Davis, Zeo, Steve Lam and Ben Sherratt.

Adam, a blogger who's studying in Australia has come up with several templates inspired by the original. These include several 3 column templates including some which are adsense ready. All the templates can be downloaded from his blog called 'K2 Modify | A New Variation on a Classic Theme'.

Free Blogger templates

if you are a Blogger user, you are probably using a generic template provided by them. That means that your blog looks like thousands of other blogspot blogs on the web.

if you want to stand out from the rest, it would be a good idea to select a unique template. If you are good at XML and graphics, go ahead and design you own. If not pay someone to design it for you. You can also choose from among the various blogger templates available for free on the net.

Blogcrowds is one of the best sources for free Blogger templates. They are all free for you to download and tweak. You can also see a demo of each template before you adopt them.

Recent comments on Blogger blogs

If you are one of the thousands of bloggers using a Blogspot blog, you might find this useful.

There is an easy way to get a list of recent comments on your blog. Just go on over to Blogger Templates and add the recent comments widget on your blog. It's so easy. You don't have to add any script using the html editor.

Blogger in Draft

In case you haven't heard, the brand new Blogger in draft is almost ready and you can try it out. I guess they are not calling it Blogger in draft Beta because Blogger is supposed to be out of beta.

Anyway, the only new feature at present is the ability to upload videos. Now you don't have to upload your video to YouTube and then embed the code here. The video is hosted with Google video.

They are saying that they have more features on the way. Eagerly waiting to see what they have to offer. Here's a trial video:

A man reformed

Reformed Adult Webmaster Reveals Cutting-Edge Marketing Secrets. I was intrigued when I heard about Woody Maxim (not sure whether that's his real name). Anybody who reforms himself is admirable and Woody now gives marketing advice for FREE on his blog rather than porn.

His blog only started in March this year but already has an Alexa ranking of 64,975 when I last checked. There are a number of intereting and useful articles you might want to check out.

Hosting with Blogger

The domain name of this blog is www.freebies.mutum.org but I am still hosting this blog for free with Blogger.

For your information, Blogger now allows your to have a custom domain name for your blog (without the blogspot.com at the back) but still host all your content with them. You will thus be able to use all of Blogger's great features and save on hosting at the same time.

Had registered the domain name mutum.org quite sometime back but haven't done anything with it. Now I am using the subdomain freebies.mutum.org for my blog, which previously had the url tidakapa.blogspot.com.

For more information, go here.

I love Blogger.
