Advertise your holiday house for free

Having a holiday home is no longer something new anymore as more and more people become affluent and transportation services improve. Some of my own relatives have bought homes in the Caribbean and India. However, it seems quite a waste actually considering that at the most, you can go on a vacation for a month or so annually and after that the house lies empty and unused for the rest of the year. It might be a good idea to rent the house out to other people during that time so that you earn some extra income from your property. A lot of people are actually doing that right now.

I was going through Arrangeyourvacation.com and reading about their Vacation Rentals. The site has become one of the largest specialized travel site on the internet for finding vacation rental homes all around the world. The properties listed include cabins, beach house, villas, bed and breakfasts and other types of lodging. I soon realised why they have so many rental properties listed on their site. The site welcomes holiday home owners to advertise their properties for FREE. So if you have a holiday home you want to rent out, this may be a great way to increase your bookings.

UK recruitment site launches innovative search engine

While going through various UK recruitment sites, I came across JumptoJobs.co.uk the search engine for jobs. They announced the launch of their innovative job search engine today. This system facilitates the delivery of very targeted jobseeker traffic to job-boards, recruitment agencies and corporate HR departments. When I last checked they had 511,905 jobs listed from various sources.

Recruiters don't have to worry about entering the data or any other administration work as the jobs advertised are indexed from their current location on the internet. Unlike other online recruitment sites, recruiters pay based on pay per click or pay per application (their choice). This ensures that they are paying only for results delivered. Go to JumpToJobs.co.uk for more details.

Gum Tree - UK's favourite classified site

Gumtree.com is the largest, free, classified advertising website in the UK. It was started as a community site in London in March 2000 by Michael Pennington and Simon Crookall. Since then, it has expanded to 60 cities across the UK, Ireland, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Gumtree.com was acquired by eBay in May 2005.

It has become our favourite site to search for accomodation for friends who are coming over the UK for furthering their studies like us. I am also looking for jobs on it. Every day, there are also a lot of ads where people are giving away their stuff for free. The only thing is that you have to go and pick it up from them.

Do check out their list of Gumtree users' favourite ads! Should bring a smile to your lips if not rotflol.

Source for Backgammon news and info

What had Backgammon got to do with Boxing? They are totally different. The former is a board games where two players moves pieces according of the roll of dice, whereas the later is physcial game where two players slug it out in a ring.

BackgammonMasters.com, an onlinebackgammon operator , is sponsoring the yet undefeated heavyweight boxer Roman Greenberg 25-0 (17).

The 25 years old London based boxer was born in Russia and raised in Israel. He is going to face 35 year old veteran American Damon Reed 43-11 (30) at the South Town Exhibition Center in Sandy, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA on August 18. This will be Greenberg's 26th professional fight. His last fight was in March when he beat Michal Simms in a match lasting 10 rounds in New York’s Madison Square Garden. Rumours also put Greenberg on a list of three possible opponents to face Vitali Klitschko in a come back fight in September.

BackgammonMasters.com has been a major sponsor of Greenberg since early on in his career when he was relatively unknown. According to their spokesperson, they did so because they saw his potential as a World boxing champion.

Got this news from Gammonish.com, the online source for news and information about backgammon. I didn't have any idea on how to play this game but fortunately the site has all the game rules .

Cost effective rental site

We initially bought our apartment with the aim of staying there. It was in the perfect location, near to two huge shopping centers, school and other amenities. However, we later changed our mind and started looking for a tenant. We thought that the rental would at least pay part or all the mortgage.

We had thought that this would be an easy task but turned out to be a nightmare. We advertised in the local newspapers and on a few discussion groups as well as on my blog. Even though we had a lot of people calling up and even a few views, we were not able to secure any tenant. I guess we were a bit choosy as most of the people who called up were students and we had decided right from the start that we would only rent out to working professionals. This went for a few months, which meant a loss of potential income and a house lying empty. We were wondering whether our investment had become a white elephant. We had a house we were paying for but it was empty.

In the end we had no choice but to contact an estate agent. They were professionals and almost immediately found a tenant for us. We were not really happy with the rentals as we had expected more but had no choice as we were leaving for the UK soon. The estate agents handled everything and we were quite happy with them apart from the fact that they took two months rental plus some extras as their fee.

If you currently have a place to rent out, you don't have to go through the same mistakes we made. Just go over to Rentals.com and find quality tenants. This site is said to be the most comprehensive rental / apartment listing database in the world. With over 3 million potential renters searching the site every month, I guess this claim is true.

Rental.com is an extremely cost effective solution for advertising your place. The Standard Listing is only $39 monthly. On the other hand, a Featured Listing costs only $59 per month, while the Premier Listing is $99 per month. Signing up is a breeze, taking only 4 steps to complete the whole process.

They offer some great extras as well. You can order a FREE custom-made yard sign with every ad placing on the site. Plus every listing comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee so that if you are not satisfied with their service, they will refund back your money. Check out the site for more info.

May the lowest win

I am sure all of you are aware how auctions work. Bidders bid for an item they like and the highest bidder wins. Well that's normally how it works. However, the auction site bid4prizes.com works differently. Here of the instead highest bidder, the
lowest bid wins.

Yes! You can even win by a few cents BUT it has to be the lowest and UNIQUE bid. So if you bid 1 cent on a cool product you fancy and others bid the same amount, you won't win.

When I last checked, there were loads of cool products to bid on, including a Panasonic 42" TV and Bose DVD Theater System, PS 3 and even a BMW 3 Series car. The BMW has got to be favorite. The bid range is between 725 cents - 745 cents. Some guys were telling me that it sounds too good to be true. If you don't believe me, check it out here.

To start bidding you have to register first. Then just follow the following steps:
STEP 1: Select your the item you are interest in by clicking it's image.
STEP 2: Enter your cellphone number and your bid amounts in cents.
After the auction ends, check to see if your bid was the lowest unique one. If it is, congratulations! You have won the prize.

PayPerPost launches PPP Direct

It's no secret that I make a bit of money from my blogs. Marketing through blogs is still new but is slowly gaining acceptance. After all, it is a form of word of mouth marketing, which we all know is extremely powerful.

I am a member of PayPerPost, one of the leaders in this new advertising revolution and yesterday there was a huge development - they call it "a monster update to the site" at 21:00 US EDT. They released a new version of PayPerPost.com known as the 'Birdo Release'. One of the biggest feature in this release is PayPerPost Direct.

So what is it all about?

Well, I learnt that this feature would allow advertisers to directly approach Posties (members of PPP) to get them to write special blog posts. This means that PPP is now a direct competitor to companies like ReviewMe and Sponsored Reviews. However, unlike these companies, which charges a massive cut of the total charges, PPPDirect only charges a 10% fee, out of which 5% goes to transaction fees for PayPal and credit card processing. UPDATE: The 10% charge is commission on top of the post. For example, I charge $20 for a post on this blog means that I will get the $20. So the total charge would be $22/ for a review.

This is great news for me as it would mean more income for the same work. For example, I used to get only $20 out of the $40 charged for a review on my Auto blog (http://autolah.blogspot.com) through ReviewMe. That's a massive 50% markup.

I also appreciate the fact that online safety and security is assured through their escrow-like service. Click here to watch an overview of the service.

PayPerPost acquires a company

PayPerPost.com is in the news yet again. For those who are not aware, this company is the leading consumer generated advertising network in the World. Bloggers get paid to carry online ads but with a difference. Bloggers get to write in their own original way about an advertiser' product or services.

Coming back to the news, they just announced that they have acquired a company. I was expecting some news of this short for quite sometime. A natural step in the expansion process of the business and quite common in the tech industry.

They will only announce the name of the company next week and I am sure that a lot of people are eagerly waiting to find out more. However, I expect that the people that are the most eager to find out are the Posties (members of PayPerPost) and I am no exception. We would definitely would like to know what this means for us.

I can only guess the nature of the company, which they have acquired. Most probably it will be a social networking company. They have definitely attracted a lot of new members but it needs to prove that they have more than that to attract top paying advertisers. Come to think of it, they probably went ahead and acquired an advertising firm - which would make a lot of sense.

What they need is for more big companies to realise the benefits of consumer generated advertising and join in. Some have (notable among them is Hewlett Packard) but they are few and far in-between.

Hope this acquisition does just that.

Discount coupon site

CouponChief.com is the leading site for online coupons, promotional deals and discounts.

I was not really into coupons and to tell the truth - a bit skeptical. However, as I became more familiar with shopping online, I have realised that these coupons can indeed save me money with my shopping.

I am sure you can find coupons for an online store selling something you want or need CouponChief.com - they have over 1,000 stores listed. For example, I am really happy they have Amazon coupons codes, one of my favourite online stores. When I last checked, they had coupons for "Free Shipping on orders over $25", "$10 Off $100 or more of select Beauty Products" and much more.

They also have coupons and promotions from famous stores such as Adidas, Dell and Gap among others.

Free Uk ads site

I would like to introduce my UK readers to Itsmymarket.com, a newly launched local classifieds site where you can place free ads. Yes! That's right. Placing your ad (and images) is totally free and really simple.

They have classified ads on everything - from houses to cars and jobs to pets. However, this site is much more than just ads. The site also carries community websites, local news and weather and lots more. You can even set up a blog there.

I noticed that the site has several competitions running with attractive cash prizes of £1000 each.

Noticed that most of the sellers are from Norfolk and Cornwall but I am sure that people from all over the UK will use this site once the news spreads.
