Climbing the tallest peak in Africa

Now for some trivia. Do you know what and where is the tallest free-standing mountain rise in the world?

Well, it is Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania rising 4,600 metres (15,000 ft) from its base. It is also the highest peak in Africa at 5,895 metres (19,340 ft). I was fascinated by this mountain after watching Ian Wright climb it on the Travel channel. It's amazing how the peaks of this mountain in the middle of Africa is covered by snow and it's my dream to climb it one day.

If you are planning to go there, I would suggest that you choose Tusker Trails, reputed as the safest and most reliable climbing company on
Kilimanjaro. Eddie Frank, the owner of the company has over 30 years experience with Mount Kilimanjaro climbs and is a high altitude expert.

Many people go on high altitude expeditions without preparing themselves physically and mentally. The site has an important safety video that I recommend that everyone should see. It has some great scenery of the mountain too. You can request a free brochure on the site. Check out their exciting newsletter "The Tusk". Has some great pictures too.
